CHALLENGE: Launch 5 mobile-responsive websites before resident registration.
RESULTS: Collaborated with leadership and across departments to redesign and consolidate multiple websites into one content management system and smoothly landed all websites on-time and within budget. Project won 1st place Best Website in the Illinois Park and Recreation Association’s Agency Showcase Competition. CMS = American Eagle


MODERN Website Redesign - Project Manager and CONTENT WRITER

CLIENT: FOX VALLEY SPECIAL RECREATION ASSOCIATION (see below)
CHALLENGE: FVSRA’S previous website had not been updated in many years. It had become outdated in many ways and was not optimized for mobile. Over time, the site became unmanageable as there was no specified ownership and governance plan.
RESULTS: I Inherited a cumbersome site and content plan when I joined a5 in July 2022. I had to quickly work with client to rework the site map and I edited all content to reflect the client’s brand platform, tone, and voice. Collaborated with Weblinx Inc., the web provider selected by FVSRA and I negotiated additional functionality on behalf of the client, with no additional financial outlay, and the site is on target to relaunch in late 2022 or early 2023. post-merger intranet Redesign - contracted intranet analyst

CLIENT: Wabtec, Inc. a global transportation and technology company. (see below)
CHALLENGE: Create a post-merger intranet/online community where Wabtec engineering employees can access resources, stay connected and grow together. 1. Build an online community for Wabtec engineering employees 2. Inculcate transparency in organization 3. Provide resources, information and tools. 4. Create a more human experience.
RESULTS: Provided recommendations to a cross-discipline team of Enterprise, Communications, Global Engineering and HR staff. Conducted a UX audit to build a user-centric experience for the HUB Sharepoint site and a communications plan to create awareness, encourage employee engagement and cultivate transparency.


AHPD intranet Redesign - project manager and content contributor

CHALLENGE: Redesign Arlington Heights Park District employee intranet to become more than just a library of pdf documents and links to procedures to become a robust and strategic business tool to support the day-to-day activities of staff, with an equal focus on corporate information, human resources self-service tools, and that utilized technology to improve overall employee engagement and cross-functional team collaboration.

ACTION: Collaborated with and project managed a team of 12 from across the District to develop an intranet in stages, to ensure that clear benefits are delivered to staff as quickly as possible. Employee input throughout this process was critical, and as the project proceeded, we spent time talking with staff throughout the organization to identify key opportunities for improving practices and information.

RESULTS: Increased employee usage by 75% in one year. The revised intranet presented a consistent and branded appearance and structure making it much easier for staff to find and use key information. A new content management system enabled us to rework and restructure the intranet to make it more relevant to day-to-day activities across the Arlington Heights Park District. CLIENT: Coalition to End Homelessness in Evanston
CHALLENGE: Create a one-stop portal for members, the community, service providers and City officials to access resources, stay connected, grow advocacy and learn from one another in their fight to end homelessness.
RESULTS: Took the site from one landing page to a multi-page portal with a site map, all new content and a central place where the Coalition can share the Evanston homelessness crisis story in a more compelling and easy to maintain way. (see below) CMS = Squarespace.
